This is Gerald's 1997 Chang Hong 6V M1 however the frame was made in the sixties. The main seat rubber is from an M72 while the passenger seat is one of the phoenix seats seen elsewhere on this site. | |||||

It has an M72 sidecar frame and front fender. M72 parts were frequently used on CJs due to the huge inventory of M72 parts kept on hand in China prior to the introduction of the CJ in 1957. | |||||

The gas tank is a rare vintage model with knee pads and offset fuel filler. | |||||

The engine was built in 1968. It has the dipstick in the bottom. The cylinders are from the early 1970s but the pistons and rings are the improved version with short the short skirts and OHV rings. These were made in early 1990s. | |||||

That's a PLA air filter housing. It's a bit smaller than the typical unit. All the wiring is vintage style with fabric insulation. Gerald has more vintage modifications planned in the future! | |||||

The sidecar taillight is the early type found on Chang Jiangs. (You'll have to enlarge the image to see it.) That's also a vintage CJ reflector. | |||||
