"Here are pictures of a customized M1. It looks like a bobber. The work was done by a Japanese friend in Beijing. It was a cool bike to ride around."

This is how an LRM sidecar cover looks when it's in use. They're constructed from heavy canvas and leather—very rugged indeed.

"Here's a picture of a project that I spotted at a Beijing shop. They are building a double sidecar CJ! They are in the early stage of the project."

LRM ships another bike!

The 1959 CJ750 in Gerald's living room! Take a good look at the vintage details on this bike.

Getting closer! The wheels are on and now all that remains are the pistons, rings, jugs, heads and wiring. Gerald could probably do all of that in a few hours time.

"Here's the latest on the project. I installed the Type I engine and a gearbox from 1969, and also the handlebars. The Type I spark advance/horn/light switch and the throttle are all vintage items. The left hand grip is from PLA Factory 402 and the right grip (with Chang Jiang 750 molded into it) is from PLA Factory 7436. These are also vintage items."

"As you can see the front wheel is on and the Type I engine partially built."

"The brackets on the yet-to-be-named project have been made according to the M72 ones. The rear bracket is from a Dong Hai. I can say that this fender and brackets are at 90% same as M72.

Here you can see detail of the sleeved frame and also the Type I headlight from 1967—brand new.

Notice the rear fender and the offset filler gas tank.

This bike also features a low R71-type air filter on a Type I gearbox."

The front fender brackets being used on the yet-to-be-named project are indeed most excellent. See for yourself.

The rear fender is just about finished. Nice, eh? The reflector is a very early one with a glass lens, not plastic.

The taillight is also old style. These are the same type of lights currently being used on the sidecar fenders, but back in the good old days they were also used on the bikes (before those big plastic things came along.)

The fender itself is a good example of the heavy gauge steel that was once used for all CJ fenders. The hinge is very robust compared to what's often used today.

Gerald's new project features black sheet metal with vintage style pinstriping.

An example of the center stand mentioned below is shown in an old CJ parts catalog. This bike will utilize many genuine vintage CJ750 parts.

"Here are some new components for my project—a straight center stand made for CJ solos and a vintage type final drive cover. Notice the the good quality of that part. It's old PLA issue, the best."

"More pictures of the new project. I brought the frame in today. I like to look at a vintage CJ when I am at home. As you can see the frame is a very old one with grease fitting on the steering head. It has brackets for the toolbox. It also has sleeved welding by the steering head. The quality of that frame is excellent.

You can also see on how the old style steering damper plate goes. This system is better than the new one."

"Here are the first pictures of my new project. It will be something very special and, of course, a vintage bike. I won't say more right now and let you wait to see. (More pictures to come.) I call it the "To Be Named Project". The front fender is a reproduction M72 low fender. The base of that reproduction is a PLA-issue standard fender. Check the brace—I know you'll like it."
