This OHV Chang now belongs to Brian McNally who was working in Nanjing.
It's fitted with a left-hand sidecar and plenty of other accessories. There's a lot of chrome on this bike too.

"Navaf is the owner."
"Here's Luke."
"The bike with Navaf are ready to leave."
"Navaf hired a truck."

Here she is. It's amazing how much more modern the bike appears with that front end.
Luke isn't 100% sure he likes the rake, though. Obviously the bike isn't totally done yet.

Worker's busy themselves with the expansion of Luke's shop in Beijing. Business has been very good.

Remember the disc brake setup Luke was building? (Scoll down to 11.2.04.) So, here we are. What do you think?
The one thing our bikes could really benefit from is more stopping power—and this is just what the doctor ordered. This is going to be a spectacular bike when finished, I have no doubts about that.

I thought about posting these two images on Jim's page but since Luke sent them, here they are. This is Jim Bryant on his freshly redone BMW-powered Chang. And in the background is Luke's shop. Look at all the bikes.
Jim's dressed for November in Beijing. I'll bet there aren't too many bikes on the road in January.

This M1M belongs to BSS customer Peter.
I especially like the way the ends of the straight pipes are cut. I'm sure Peter does too.

Heikki from Finland introduced four good friends to BSS and they ordered five bikes here. They are pretty happy with them. Heikki will introduce more friends. Sitting in back is Heikki. In front of him is Seppo. That's Jari in the sidecar. Two friends not pictured are Richard and another Heikki.

Whoa. Can you picture this on the front of a Chang? Inverted forks, disc brake—and check out that fender.
Lower triple tree with a built-in running light bracket.
I can't wait to see how this is going to look.

This yellow BSS Super belongs to Jose in Macau.
He has ordered three bikes from BSS so far—this one and two that were shipped to Portugal.
So... I wonder how many CJs there are running around in Macau these days.

Remember Connie Jordan? Well take a peek at her newest bike.
It's a Super in light green metallic.
The pinstriping is subtle—very nice indeed.
This bike has high handlebars which retain the traditional BMW-style levers.

Here's a nice assortment of bikes at BSS. This one is especially interesting because it has an old style M72 sidecar frame.
Your basic factory-built all-black sidecar Chang.
And this is one of Luke's custom bikes...
...as is this red M1M.
One of Luke's flame jobs.
Here's a Super solo with just the right amount of flash.

Last Sunday 17 Changs gathered at BSS for a ride.
Some of the participants.
The food was great.
And here the bikes pause on the return trip. Look at those beauties.

This lady is Connie, one of Luke's many customers.
As a matter of fact, she's purchased three bikes from BSS.

This M1M was built for BSS customer Julian. It features some chromed parts, custom upholstery and a sidecar windscreen.
It's one of Luke's more conservative bikes.
The red stars on the tank and sidecar bonnet are just perfect for a CJ.

A scene from yesterday's off-road riding experience. Looks like the weather was pretty good this time. Luke reports that Big Bill had a close call while navigating a steep mountain trail.
And here he is, our friend Bill Eng, all in one piece.
A long line of Changs in a small village.

Interesting night scene in front of Luke's partner's shop.
This one is closer to the city. You can be sure this will be one of the places I'd visit if I ever make it to China.

July 31, 2004

A BSS bike was featured in a Hong Kong magazine article. It's in Chinese and the enlarged image shows much more.
And here's the continuation. Luke's bikes are pretty well known just about everywhere these days.

If you'd like some snazzy custom upholstery for your sidecar, Luke is your man. This looks like my dad's recliner—comfortable.
Two-toned, custom upholstered seats for the bike itself, too.

July 19, 2004

Luke's bikes find their way all over the world. This M1S has just arrived in Portugal.
Unfortunately the sidecar got scratched during transit. It should be easily repaired, however.

BSS VIP customer Juergen poses with six bikes he bought recently.
They'll soon be on their way to Europe in a container.
