Vintage CJ750 turn signal arrows

During summer, 2007 I installed an arrow on my grey M1. It's not functional, but I sure do like it.

A whole box of Chinese turn indicator arrows from Xitek.com

It's arrow time at our place. Five arrows were waiting when I got home from being on the road. The two on the left are from Jim Bryant and the rest came from Gerald.
This is a Gerald arrow. It's different from the others in a number of ways, most significantly the silver colored casing (as opposed to olive drab.) This one came in the original box!
The packing slip for the arrow above. It's the same as slip shown below and dated July, 1965.

Here's how they look at night when lit, courtesy of Moto8.com.

Boxed NOS arrows from Gerald: "Here are pictures of arrows that I just brought back. They are in their original boxes. Some are from ShangHai and others from Beijing. The ones from Shanghai were made in 1965 as the tag tells us. The ones from Beijing came in a more colorful box."

Gerald frequents a place known only as CJ Wonderland where he found some arrow turn signals. Yep, this is the real deal.

Gerald sent this picture is from a movie showing a Guomingdang officer on a Harley with an arrow. That's right—a Harley!

These classic old turn signal arrows turn up in much of the earlier CJ750 manuals and parts catalogs. Most of these examples are courtesy of LRM. Every one of the bikes in these illustrations has a turn signal arrow!

These arrow pictures are from Camera Union.

Government propaganda photographs and artwork depict the arrows used primarily on motorcycles however they can also be seen on cars, trucks and even tractors! Look closely and you'll see that not all of the bikes used by the PLA were CJ750s (or even Dong Hai 750s for that matter.) In fact, does anybody know what the bike in the first image is? It may be the legendary Chinese Zundapp copy! (Courtesy of LRM, Clay Jones and Frans de Wit.)

This picture was posted on Moto8. Curiously, this flatty also has turn signal blinkers.

Check this out! It's a Dong Hai 750 with an arrow from Big Bill Eng. It also has a set of blinkers.

I wish I knew the story here but the accompanying information was in Chinese. These pictures are also from Moto8.

And last but not least, arrows at LRM. They're available for all you traditionalists. To order one, just send Gerald an e-mail at gardebledg@yahoo.com
