"1964" SV on eBay USA. Seller says this M1M has been "upgraded" to 12V and reverse. Obviously not very knowledgeable.

Pictures of an R71 engine. You'll see quite a few differences from the CJ SV.

From Frans De Wit: "It appears that the people, workers, peasants, white-collar, children and the PLA army, navy and air force will guard the Motherland from attack from the outside, like the USA-sustained, runaway province of Formosa, aka Taiwan. Not completely sure of that, but after seeing so many propaganda I'm quite sure..."
News regarding oil pick-ups for deep sumps from Dan Cason: "I finally finished these three units. Took five different prototypes to get what I could be proud of and not worry if I'd ruin someone's motor. I only have three of them but I'll sell them to whoever wants them. I don't know if I want to make more as they're sort of a pain to make"
"I suppose if there were enough interest I could run a batch. I think Id sell them for $60 ea. Seems like a lot, but it takes way more labor than that." [I'm surprised that nobody made these sooner, not just for Changs but Russian bikes as well. You might want to jump on them while you have this opportunity.]
Duro 400-19 tires, best deal so far
This Chang from Jimbo's Classic Sidecars has a BMW R75/6 engine, BMW fenders, BMW wheels, BMW exhaust pipes and BMW handlebars. It makes you wonder—at what point would it no longer be considered a CJ??

It's not CJ news, but it's still news nonetheless. Let's just say the stork will be stopping at our place again, probably in the first week of March.
From Jim: Video of Jim's first try at riding up the death ramp.
Here's the second try. By the 18th. bike, Jim had it mastered.
From Jim: "Here's our first build coming out of our new shop. It has a 1000cc BMW motor."
From Jim: "A video clip of a bike we built for a guy in MD who decided he wanted a 2WD so he traded it for a new Ural. After a few weeks, he realized the CJ rode much better than the Ural so he sold it and ordered another bike from us. This video was made by the dealer who took it in trade. He has since sold the bike to a guy in California."
From Jim: "This is part two of the video taken by a Ural dealer who is selling one of our bikes. He got a couple things wrong, but you get the idea."
An interesting old CJ750 photo from Xitek
The plastic 2½" beehive lenses on my bikes will soon be replaced with glass ones. Glass lenses are available in red, amber, clear, green and blue.
Frans de Wit sent this link to a site showing a stainless steel CJ. No kidding!

Cool CJ750 videos from Sidecar Leo in Beijing
This contraption applies forward pressure on the generator, the objective being to make the O-ring compress more, thus doing a better job of stopping oil from leaking. (This bracket came from a 1958 Edsel grille. Imagine that.) That yellow thing is my oil sponge.
Since it's going to be permanent, it needed some cosmetic work, and here's the result. What isn't visible in the photo is a 1/16" thick rubber pad between the bolt head and the dynamo. This gizmo is also adjustable.

From Todd Parham: "Here's Santa (Todd Parham), Mrs. Claus (Tonya Parham) and Head Elf (Scott Cui) riding into Shanghai American School Pudong Campus to drop off gifts to the Pre-K and Kindergarten students before holiday break. Next year, we plan to have at least eight elves, all riding CJs. It should really get the kids fired up!"
Wouldn't this look sweet on the back end of a CJ?
If you saw "Flashy Jack's" nonsensical statements in the BMW magazine, read this.
Black straight pipes from copper
These STOP lenses are frequently offered on eBay. If you want one to use with a Whitney Model A taillight lamp, be advised that the bezel doesn't fit this lens properly.
Lately, I've been obsessed with the goofy looking tabs for mounting the front fender to the forks. They'll be made less conspicuous through the miracle of black paint, the same as was done with the mounting tabs on the fuel tank.
There. That's better.

What to do with your rear seat pedestal
Alexander Raatz in Germany owns this R71 that's been repowered with an R66 OHV. He also sent some pictures of vintage BMW fenders.
